TEF exam format

TEF exam is has four sections:

 

Compréhension écrite

•4 sections – 50 questions in a multiple answers quiz

•1 hour

•Goal: assess your ability to read and understand written documents.

 

Compréhension orale

•4 sections – 60 questions

•40 minutes

•Goal: assess your ability to understand spoken French listening audio recordings.

 

Expression écrite

•2 sections

•1 heure

•Goal: assess your ability to express yourself in written French.

 

Expression orale

•2 sections

•15 minutes (total duration of the test) – 1 minute to prepare for each section.

•Goal: assess your ability to express yourself and speaking in French.
