Should you take the TEF Canada exam?

Taking the TEF allows you to put your French skills to the test, ranging from beginning to advanced. This exam is divided into four sections (oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression, and written expression).

You must take the TEF Canada if you wish to study or work in Canada. TEF stands for Test d’Évaluation du Français, and it is used to determine your proficiency in French if you intend to seek for a job in Canada or enrol in a Canadian university. Because one of Canada’s provinces (Québec) has French as an official language in addition to English, it is considered a French-speaking country.

If you want to immigrate to Canada (or Québec by taking the TEFAQ), you must take the TEF Canada.

As a result, if you meet the minimum requirements, the Canadian government will issue you a visa. Having this test allows you to immigrate to Canada and work anywhere. If you want to apply for Canadian citizenship, you must complete it.

The Federal Government of Canada recognizes TEF Canada as proof of your ability to communicate in French during the immigration process. The score is valid for a period of two years.

If you want to immigrate to Québec, you must additionally take a particular test (TEFAQ).

To apply for immigration to Canada, you’ll need to fill out the following forms:

•Written comprehension (reading)

•Oral comprehension (Listening)

•Written expression (Writing)

•Oral expression (Speaking)
