Taking the TEF allows you to put your French skills to the test, ranging from beginning to advanced. This exam is divided into four sections (oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression, and written expression).

You must take the TEF Canada if you wish to study or work in Canada. TEF stands for Test d’Évaluation du Français, and it is used to determine your proficiency in French if you intend to seek for a job in Canada or enrol in a Canadian university. Because one of Canada’s provinces (Québec) has French as an official language in addition to English, it is considered a French-speaking country.

If you want to immigrate to Canada (or Québec by taking the TEFAQ), you must take the TEF Canada.
